Pet Policy — Express Campers

(A trading name of Express Van Hire Limited)

1. Pet-Friendly Vehicles

  • Pets are only permitted in designated pet‑friendly campervans.

  • Pet bookings must be declared at the time of reservation.

  • Unauthorised pets in non‑pet‑friendly vehicles will result in loss of the full security deposit for breach of the hire agreement.

2. Number and Type of Pets

  • A maximum of 2 well‑behaved pets are permitted in pet‑friendly vehicles.

  • Dogs are accepted as standard. Other pets may be accepted at our discretion.

3. Security Deposit for Pet Bookings

Because pet hires carry a higher risk of cleaning and damage, the security deposit increases to £750 for all bookings that include pets.

  • This deposit is refundable after inspection

  • Deductions may be made for damage, excessive cleaning, or missing items

  • Refunded within 3–7 working days after the vehicle is returned4.

4.Pet Behaviour & Supervision

The Hirer is responsible for ensuring pets are:

  • Under control at all times

  • Not left unattended in the vehicle

  • Not allowed on seats, bedding, or soft furnishings

  • Clean, dry, and free from excessive mud before entering the vehicle

Any damage caused by pets will be charged to the Hirer.

5. Cleaning Requirements

The vehicle must be returned:

  • Free from pet hair

  • Free from odours

  • Clean and tidy

If additional cleaning is required, a pet cleaning charge will be deducted from the security deposit.

6. Damage & Charges

The Hirer is liable for:

  • Damage to upholstery, flooring, fixtures, or equipment

  • Chewing, scratching, or staining

  • Replacement of damaged or lost items

  • Any professional cleaning required

These costs will be deducted from the security deposit.

7. Campsites & Public Spaces

The Hirer must:

  • Follow campsite rules regarding pets

  • Keep pets on leads where required

  • Clean up after pets at all times

Any fines or penalties are the responsibility of the Hirer.

8. Breach of Pet Policy

If pets are found in a non‑pet‑friendly vehicle, or if the policy is breached, we reserve the right to:

  • Retain the full security deposit

  • Charge for additional cleaning or repairs

  • Terminate the hire agreement without refund
